"Mr. N. J. [sic] Herreshoff, of Bristol, R. I., is building a catamaran, of the same size as the Tarantella, for parties in England. Sawyer, of this city, will make her sails, the rig also being the same as that of the Tarantella [#187704es]. The new double-huled catamaran will be 30 feet in length; mainboom 31 feet; jibboom, 27 feet; gaff, 15 feet 6 inches, and the mast, above deck, 29 feet 3 inches." (Source: Anon. "Yachting Notes." New York Herald, May 8, 1878, p. 4.)

"A catamaran boat built for parties in London, England, by the Herreshoffs of this town, has recently greatly astonished the natives in the mother country by her wonderful speed while scudding over the waters of the Thames." (Source: Anon. "Locals." Bristol Phoenix, August 3, 1878, p. 2.)
