"Offsets for this design appear on p. 18 of offset booklet HH.4.210 'Model for large Sloop. Feb. 28, 1886. About 85 f w.l. Prelim. measurements ... Disp. 3878.4 cuft.' See also NGH's design notebook which under date of February 28, 1886 shows the same offsets and describes a design for a 'Large Sloop Yacht' of 98ft LOA, 85ft LWL, 24ft Beam and 11ft 3in Depth and a 'Disp[lacement] by planimeter of 3878.4cuft = 126 tons'. The Halsey C. Herreshoff Collection at the Herreshoff Marine Museum Item 2004.0001.0582, WRDT08, Folder 45 shows undated penciled side-by-side half-sections with profile and displacement curve of a large yacht with plumb bow, round forefoot, long and almost straight keel and a long overhang aft andh calculations arriving at a displacement of 3878.4cuft = 252000lbs = 126 tons [net] = 113 tons gross. The model for this design (which at the stated scale of 1/4in to the ft should have an overall length of 24.5in) has not been identified (Model 1104 and Model 1214 are similar but clearly for a shorter design)."
