Supplement

Research Note(s)

"Rowboat 13'-6" long x 4'-3" wide. Molds 10 1/2 / 12 of 14' figs. Sheer raised 3 1/4". Frame spaces 7". Keel white oak. Sheer strake wihite oak. Stern 3/4" mahog or oak. Planking 5/16" cedar, narrow strakes [as per notes on drawing 28-34]. Note: It appears as if [Dinghy for #658s Irolita II] was built from this plan, but the information is very unclear as only an almost unreadable #658 plus some other unreadable notes appear in some notes on the plan. These notes also seem to mention Frame space 8 1/2 which would imply an overall length of 16'-5", rather than 13'-6". Not even the date is clear from the notes on this drawing." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. October 26, 2009.)

"This vessel's contract date was estimated from the date of the vessel it was made for. #658s Irolita II (for which this vessel was built) was contracted for 1906-01-06. Plan 28-34 (formerly 76-71) from which this boat was built was drawn 1905-09." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. October 26, 2009.)

Note: Research notes contain information about a vessel that is often random and unedited but has been deemed useful for future research.
