"#128 39'6" steam launch for USS Chicago. Also, with modifications, #183 Item, 45'6" steamer of 1895, #252 Waneeche and #253 Tautog, 40'3" gasoline launches of 1906, and #258 Idle Hour, 41'3" gasoline launch of 1906." (Source: Bray, Maynard. 2004.)

Comment:
"The offset book pertaining to this model is dated June 6, 1885, which date was also assumed as the date that this model was finished. Note, that this model was lengthened at the stern, the original model was 30 inches long and 3 1/4 inches wide (half-breadth) as per notes by NGH in his offset booklet. The addition of the new overhanging stern was made for NGH's own #183p Item which was based on a regular navy launch." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. July 13, 2014.)
