"Granted, Sidney carved the half model, but was he the designer of record? I can't dispute, only question, after seeing how Lloyds handled, say, the FIS 23 and 31, listing Herreshoff Mfg. Co. as designer. Even Ara, the 165' diesel yacht of 1922, has HMCo as designer of record. I've always been under the impression that all yachts showing HMCo as designer were actually designed by Sidney, while those that show NGH were really designed by NGH." (Source: Bray, Maynard.
