"[Item Description:] Penciled preliminary sailplan and plan view of a gaff-ketched whale boat. Untitled, drawn at scale 1/2in. With calculations indicating a total sail area of 265sqft. Only one non-motorized whaleboat was built by HMCo: #191501es, a whale boat for #722s KATOURA. Comparison of this plan and plan 130-125 for KATOURA's whaleboat strongly suggests that they are the same boat. Undated, but #191501es was designed in April 1915." (Source: Halsey C. "This vessel's contract date was estimated from the approximate date of its job number. Plan 28-45 (formerly 76-120) from which this boat was built was drawn 1915-04. The vessel's job number 8075 was assigned ca. 1915-04-01. #722s Katoura (for which this vessel was built) was contracted for 1913-03-31. This boat's contract or building date is about 25 months after #722s Katoura was contracted for." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. October 26, 2009.)
