Spartan was converted to a yawl in 1945. She was refit on the West Coast in the 60's and 70's and then used for charter in the Carribbean. Allen Pease began a complete refit. It was moved to New London in 1989, where work stopped. It was brought to the Herreshoff Museum in 1993, where it stood until she was sold in 2006. She will be based in Italy upon completion of her restoration.
