Original owner Charles Francis Adams of Boston, Marblehead, Cohasset, and Concord was the skipper of Resolute in 1914 and 1920, and the skipper of Yankee in 1930 and 1934. He bought the boat for his daughter Catherine, and donated to her to Mystic Seaport in 1963.
