Model discussion:
"In my opinion 'Resolute' was a little full at the water line below the chain plate. I do not remember another one of Captain Nat's models that had a similar hardness at this point, and this peculiarity probably retarded 'Resolute' when close hauled in light weather and there was a ground swell running." (P. 300; Herreshoff, L. Francis. The Wizard of Bristol. The Life and Achievements of Nathanael Greene Herreshoff, together with An Account of Some of the Yachts he Designed. New York, 1953.)

Comment:
"At least three models were made by NGH for the 1914 defense of the America's Cup. Only this model has been identified. The others are missing or have not been identified." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. April 10, 2017.)
