Model identification:
"Possibly newly identified model. Compare with pantograph sections MRDE04_04220 titled '1st trial. 24 1/2in w.l. Plate keel. Nov[ember] 21 [18]91. (1st model)' and MRDE04_04230 titled '1[st] trial. 24 1/2ft w.l. plate keel for Mt. Desert Y.C. (2nd model). Not used'. At a scale of 1:24 this model would be for a vessel of 35.2ft LOA, but given that both its bow and stern are damaged it may have been for a slightly longer design. See also NGH design booklet entry dated September 6, 1891 for '25ft w.l. model made recently. Length o.all = 38ft 6in, w.l. = 24ft 10 1/2in, Beam 7ft 3in, Draft 5ft 11", Scale 3/4 per ft" which apparently was also for an early finkeel but at scale of 1:16. Or was this a preliminary model for Model 309 for #415s Wenonah which was contracted for on November 16, 1891?" (Source: van der Linde, Claas. June 3, 2021.)
