"Labeled 'Herreshoff 40 Square Metre Type 47 x 30 x 7.7 x 5 1/2' this model is known to have been displayed in March 1934 at the Sportsman's Show in Providence, RI as a framed exhibit titled 'Scale Models of Recent One-Design Classes By Herreshoff Mfg. Co. R.F. Haffenreffer - Pres. Bristol, R.I.'. A photo of the exhibtion in the collection of the Herreshoff Marine Museum shows it on a framed plate together with models XA2-1_07, XA2-1_08, XA2-1_09 and XA2-1_10.
