"The sailboat race that took place on Friday last week between the Pelican, of this town, and the Favorite, of Pawtucket, from Rumstick Point buoy, around a flagboat off Warwick Neck, was won by the Pelican. The latter beat her competitor five minutes and twenty-eight seconds. The distance sailed was about eight miles. The stake was $100. The Pelican is a new boat, recently built by Mr. John B.
