"Study model by Sid Herreshoff about 1912 [sic, apparently in July 1910] for Sonder class. This model used for Streaker [built by Halsey Herreshoff in 1980]." (Source: Bray, Maynard. 2004.)

"MRDE04_01190 shows a set of penciled pantograph hull sections titled 'Experimental Sonder class boat (Sidney). 2nd trial. July 1910'. Even though Model 0316 is said to have been made in about 1912 its great similarity to the hull shown on MRDE04_01190 suggests that it actually was made in July 1910 and not in 1912. Compare Model 316 'Study model for Sonder class with w.l. not limited scale 1/12 (Sidney about 1912[sic, 1910?])' with Model 930 'Study for Sonder Class, if WL is not limited. Scale 1/12 (NGH about 1912[sic, 1910?])'. Both Sonder boat models have comparably short overhangs and high freeboards and would not conform to the German Sonder Class rule. It appears father and son were experimenting together with an improved Sonder Class boat and rule --- apparently as a result of the experiences just made with the very extreme Toboggan and Bibelot."
