Research Note(s)
"Job # 8421 [ca. November 1915].
Launch for #772 MARIETTE (as in red)
Motor, Wisconsin 4cyl, Type Q.M. 3 1/4 x 5in
All seats put 3in lower and steering seat 4in aft.
Bulkjead with removable door on [frame station] 18.
Deck inside of coaming in engine space cut away.
Cockpit extended aft to after bulkhead." (Source: Herreshoff Manufacturing Company. [Note.] # 7003 Construction Plan 2-78 (HH.5.0080). April 28, 1913.)
"This entry was added to the HCR as per note on Mariette's construction plan 1-57 as well as a note on plan 2-78 (power launch for #719s Vagrant) which indicates that a power launch for Mariette with the same dimensions was built as job no. 8421 (estimated date November 1915)." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. October 26, 2014.)
"This vessel's contract date was estimated from the date Mariette's two other dinghies were contracted for. Plan 2-78 from which this boat was built was drawn 1913-03. #772s Mariette (for which this vessel was built) was contracted for 1915-10-07. Plan 2-78 (power launch for #719s Vagrant) shows this vessel as job no. 8421 which interpolates to an estimated date of November 1915, thus confirming the previous estimate. This boat's contract or building date is about 1 month after #772s Mariette was contracted for." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. October 27, 2014.)
"Weight with equipment 1500lbs." (Source: Herreshoff Manufacturing Company. [Note.] # 7003 Construction Plan 2-78 (HH.5.0080). April 28, 1913.)
