Research Note(s)

"This boat was added to the HCR due presence of a sailplan in the Halsey C. Herreshoff Colleection at the Herreshoff Marine Museum 'for Conseuelo's small boat. 1886'. The boat is also shown hanging from the port side of Consuelo's davits. Measurements of a Stebbins photo with this tender suggest an LOA of 11ft 6inMost or all small boats built by HMCo at the time were Albatross rowboats built from plan 28-1 and from Model 121, leading to the assumption that this was also the case for this yacht tender. But note that no boat for Consuelo is mentioned on that plan (others are). It is not clear if this boat was built in 1883 together with Consuelo or in 1886 when the above mentioned sailplan was made." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. March 13, 2019.)
